The rural teaching offers a volunteer real African experience.
A volunteer teaches at a rural community school based 75km from the town of Livingstone.
The volunteer stays with a host family in a village located 4km from the local school. A volunteer lives in a hut with the family.
Volunteers are expected to help the local teachers to teach children English, Science, maths and recreation activities.
After work, the volunteer helps with village chores like drawing water from a well, collecting fire wood, gardening, cooking , cleaning etc.
A volunteer also has an option of living alone in the private room ( Hut )
This project gives a volunteer an opportunity also to learn the local language ( Tonga ) while staying with the host family. Volunteers also learn a lot of things from the Zambian Culture and also have an opportunity to eat local cuisine as this is what is common in the village.
